|
David J. Hellerstein, MD is a Research Psychiatrist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, New York, NY, and Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, with a particular focus on the psychopharmacology, or medication treatment, of psychiatric disorders. Dr. Hellerstein works in the Depression Evaluation Service (DES) of the New York State Psychiatric Institute. He has received over twenty grants for studies of depression, schizophrenia and other conditions, and has published over 50 articles and book chapters on professional topics. A Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, he has served as President of the New York County District Branch of the American Psychiatric Association. | |||

Sarai Batchelder, PhD has been the Program Manager for the Mood Disorders Research Program since 1996. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, and is a NY state licensed psychologist. She is the patient’s initial contact with the program, performing evaluation interviews, and assisting patients and doctors in the day to day activities of the research program. She also coordinates regulatory affairs, advertising, marketing, statistical analyses, training, and development. In addition to her work at the MDRP, she is also program coordinator for studies conducted by the Depression Evaluation Service of the NY State Psychiatric Institute | |||

Steven Hyler, MD is Senior Attending Psychiatrist at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia. He is the senior author of the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire (PDQ-4), which is widely used in research studies on personality disorders. He has a special interest in personality disorders, technology, and psychiatry and popular culture. Dr. Hyler provides and oversees patient care in the Mood Disorders Research Program. | |||
